| CHARACTER; » Name: Winona Hawkins » Fandom: Justified » Reference: general show wiki | winona specific wikia » Canon Point: Post 1x12 - "Fathers and Sons" » Gender: Female » Age: Late 30s. (No actual age is ever given.) » Orientation: Heterosexual. When we first meet her in the series, Winona's married to a man named Gary Hawkins. She was also married to Raylan Givens, who she also ends up getting back together with. » Personality:
Though she never really admits it in so many words, the one thing that Winona has always and will always want is a calm, happy life with the man she loves. She needs optimism and something to make the day-to-day life meaningful and happy, which is why she left Raylan - her husband of six years - for Gary. She got tired of Raylan's "exhausting grind" and his dangerous job, the one she always feared he'd never come back from. Gary was a Realtor and she honestly thought that he would stay out of hot water, that he would give her the life she had always longed for. And for a while, he did and she was one of the happiest women in the world. But then he got in over his head with some really bad people and Raylan, who found out because Winona asked him for help - something she would never have done, had it not been "really important" - stepped in to save the day. Despite her very valid reasons for leaving Raylan, Winona found herself drawn to him again and realized that her feelings for him never went away. Still, she can't stand the thought of him constantly risking his life and frequently fights with him about it and asks him to get a better, safer job. Winona is also one of those women who loves with everything she's got. She worries about the ones she loves - which is shown both in her history with Raylan and the way she worries about Gary when he disappears during the Mafia fiasco. Motherly instincts run rampant in her body even though she's never had children before; she even takes care of a drunk and beat up Raylan in the episode "Hatless". Like anyone else that has ever existed, Winona is very, very flawed. She has anger issues - most of which have to do with Raylan - and she makes some really poor life choices, especially when stressed. She cheats on her husband when things start going south - with her ex husband - and later on in the series, when she realizes she's not going to have anything after her and Gary finalize the divorce, Winona decides to steal some cash from the vault in the court house. She always comes to her senses, though, and owns up to her mistakes, even if it takes a while. She knows that she's flawed and she's well aware of the bad choices she makes, she just gets swept up in the stress and can't quite see clearly. Winona also prefers her private life to stay exactly that: private. She doesn't advertise to many people that she is Raylan's ex and she doesn't want everyone knowing about her and Raylan getting back together in the second season. She prefers to be discreet and quiet about what's going on, mostly because she doesn't want people asking questions that they have no right to be asking. She also can beat around the bush or sidestep certain topics with Raylan, mostly to protect their privacy. SAMPLES; » "amatomnes" Entry:
Has anyone bothered tryin' to tell the staff here that you get more flies with honey than vinegar? 'Cause I'm pretty sure that was the rudest housekeeper I've ever talked to before. [ Winona's sort of freaking out here so she's trying to focus on something not related to Oh, god, I just got kidnapped and have no idea where I am. ] That said, if somebody out there could maybe give me some kind of idea as to where we are, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not real sure what my phone number is, but hopefully whoever's listening will be able to figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help. » "amatomneslogs" Entry:
Rolling onto her side, Winona finally let her eyes open, gaze first settling on the window. The curtains weren't even close to the color she'd picked out for the house, but she almost didn't care; the sun trying to fight its way in through the fabric was more important. She just wanted to lay there and bask in it like a cat, at least for a couple more hours. As the haze of mind-blowing sex and sleep started to fade, Winona started realizing that something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Kicking back the sheets that she now realized were nothing like the cotton ones on her own bed, she scrambled out of bed, eyes scanning the room for any hint of familiarity. But this wasn't her bedroom and it sure as hell wasn't Raylan's hotel room; everything was too... Roman. Definitely not her style. She could feel panic knotting in her chest - her very naked chest - but she tried to keep it under control. Giving into it right now wouldn't get her anywhere. She needed to focus, to figure out what was going on, try to get in contact-- The sight of her clothing folded neatly at the end of the bed, completely undisturbed, gave her pause. She stepped towards it, one slightly shaking hand reaching out to touch it hesitantly, like it might come alive and kill her. Once she actually touched the fabric and realized nothing was going to happen, she quickly got dressed, surprised the panic wasn't bad enough to make her fumble at all. Then, as she was zipping her skirt, Winona caught sight of something - not her cell phone but something that looked pretty similar - on the dresser. She made her way over and just as she grabbed the device, she glanced towards the mirror and literally froze. Even her breathing stopped for a short moment. Abandoning the device, Winona's hand flew to her throat, fingers touching the collar around her neck. Now she could let herself give into the panic. Now she could start freaking out and forget trying to find answers; she needed to get out of here. Thank god she was used to heels otherwise she might've tripped and broken her ankle on her way out the door. |
